Our Historical Museum is a treasure chest of artifacts and information, a flagship of our society that focuses on the history of our local area. And it goes without saying that we exist because of the membership, donations, and bequests from individuals like you…however…
…part of the southern wall from the original 1962 museum is sinking. We need to lift 60 feet of this wall and install new foundation footings to bedrock. When we do, we need to raise the interior floor about 5 to 8 inches to match as well. And to add insult to injury, the outside wall along this entire dip has cracked open and must be fixed!
Now, as you can imagine, these repairs are going to be costly. The Marinette County Historical Society is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation (we receive no funds from the City or County), so we are asking for your help with these necessary repairs.
If you have ever visited our Historical Museum, are a member of the MCHS, or simply have an interest in preserving local history, please click HERE to navigate to our CrowdRise fundraising page (a non-profit extension of GoFundMe).
